Created as a chapter within the City of Palmdale’s General Plan Update also developed by Raimi + Associates, the Climate Action Plan (CAP) outlines the City’s greenhouse gas reduction and sustainability strategies. This CAP builds on the City’s ongoing efforts to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change and addresses sustainability issues such as water quality and supply, waste management, ecosystems stewardship, environmental literacy, equitable access to open spaces, and supporting the health and well-being of the community. The plan outlines policies and establishes actions to meet the City’s climate goals guided by state legislative framework in the following sectors: clean energy, buildings, solid waste, transportation, and sequestration.
